humanity to others

Red introduced me to the world of Ubuntu. I have never been so excited to try something new in my computer before this. Just like anybody else, it seems to be a difficult shift to use open softwares with all the misconceptions and prejudices in mind. I wonder when the time comes when I'm fully into Ubuntu? There are a lot of things that I should learn. But, I don't mind. I think I'll get the hang of it (I just need to know how to install some applications and I'm ready to go.)

The interesting part of it was I have a friend who is now in the public school and they have donated computers with Linux in them.

freitag

The idea of recycling is not something new.

I really like messenger bags.

Freitag is something you should check out. I wish i had something like this one. Two brothers in Zürich started it all. What they have is something that is trendy, functional and of course environmentally-sound. You won't feel bad about buying it because they reuse materials like tarpaulin, used car seat belts, air bags and even inner tubes of bikes.

They cut outs tarps and use the original designs from it.

Pure creative endeavor with the world in mind.

you've got to love loveholic

Myung Jae gave me a CD of songs last July that he wanted to share with me. Even if I didn't know any word in the songs he gave me, one group caught my attention. Loveholic is famous for the songs Doll's Dream, Chiara'a Forest and Mermaid. If you know One Love, yep its also from this Korean rock group.

we are living through such troubled times

Its been what... a week, and my new year quote just got challenged. Things get a little loose as I the new year starts. I know these challenges shouldn't be bothering me, but it seems like a lot of people would really taunt your strings tight.

I bumped into this song... I don't know if a lot know this... but it actually speaks a lot of the time in my life and the people around me.

And how can I pretend that I don't know
What's going on?
When every second
And every minute
Another soul is gone

And I believe that in my life
I will see
An end to hopelessness
Or giving up
Or suffering

Then we all stand together this one time
Then no one will get left behind
And stand up for life
Stand up
And here me sing
Stand up
For love

This would definitely be a first. I am now teaching two honor section classes. How can I take all of their intelligences?

i not stupid too

It was a formation session to remember. Fr. Pen facilitated the activity in the afternoon and we were to watch a film...

I Not Stupid Too

All I can say is that the film is a smorgasbord, a bombardment, and an assortment of emotions all bundled up in one film. Jack Neo has attempted to bring out issues of teenagers with family and school.

Its a roller coaster ride from start to finish.

Never hesitate to give students the praise they deserve.

n.b. Thanks for the copy Fr Pen.

new year quote

Enough with New Year Resolutions...

I would want to be guided by this quote this year.

"Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some; it is in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

- Marianne Williamson
